Acupressure
is an ancient healing art developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago which
uses the
fingers to press points on the skin to stimulate the body's natural
self-curative abilities. Pressing these
points releases muscular tension and promotes the circulation of blood
and of
the body's life force energy to aid healing. Acupuncture
and acupressure use the same points, but
acupuncture employs
needles, while acupressure uses gentle but firm pressure.
